Heroin Dropped from Drone by Pakistan Recovered by BSF in Punjab

On 01st Feb’ 2024, on specific information from the BSF regarding presence of a suspected packet in a field in the outskirts of village- Didhowal in Distt Gurdaspur, a joint search operation was launched by the BSF troops stationed at Amritsar in the afternoon hours. During search, at about 5 pm, the vigilant troops successfully recovered 01 packet of heroin (gross weight – approximately 3.432 Kgs). The narcotics were wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and a metal carabiner was attached with the packet. This recovery took place in a farming field adjacent to Didhowal Village in Gurdaspur District. A reliable input and a well coordinated operation of BSF at Amritsar successfully foiled yet another smuggling attempt of narcotics from across the border.
