The BSF saved life of a person by taking him to a nearby hospital. The incident took place on the evening of July 10. Vikas Mandal (42) and  his father Ajit Mandal of Dhakola village, close to the Indo-Bangladesh border, suddenly fell ill and started vomiting blood. The family members rushed to the nearby BSF border outpost Shikarpur to help them and sought help. The company commander of Shikarpur immediately sent a nursing assistant along with a BSF ambulance to the man’s house. From there, the patient was taken to Karimpur Hospital.

Mandal’s family expressed gratitude to the BSF and said that BSF provides all possible help to the villagers, due to which there is a good relationship between the BSF and the villagers. In fact,  there is a lack of means of transport in Shikarpur and its surrounding villages, so the people here take the help of BSF’s border post Shikarpur. The Commanding Officer of the 86 Bn expressed happiness over this commendable work of the soldiers and said that the Border Security Force stands in every happiness and sorrow of the border residents.
